So, the thing about most of the Norse gods is that they are more or less humans. Humans squared. Unlike their Greek or Egyption counter parts most of the Norse Pantheon doesn't have a lot of magic super powers unlike Thor or Loki or most of the Vanier. Odin is a sorcerer yes, but he's mostly a war god and a quester for knowledge. To the Norse the gods were more like the embodiments of nature in human form. Powerful and in their own right, but also grounded to us

@MinecraftPro15 That's not right Eivor gender matter, you can watch analysis by Ubisoft dev called "rino". And he explains it that Eivor is a female, and male version is odin. That's why basim didn't knew that Eivor was odin, whole game is being played with female Eivor being canon or animus decision being canon.and It's not really about blood, it's soul/mind that was implemented in humans. Tho they didn't explained in game but something significant happened in the 9th century to awake all of sages at once. Eivor/odin, sigurd/tyr, basim/loki,halfdan/thor,valka mother/freya, all of them being in once place in one time is very rare, considering more then one sage at time was almost impossible until Valhalla.

The new AC games, from Origins to this, *look* cool and all… I like the themes, but I think it's a shame that they've turned combat into such a RPG style with damage numbers, healthbars, glows and sparks. I liked the more realistic and grounded combat of the first games.

Not really sure I'd call the combat in previous games more realistic...you could literally just sit there and wait for each enemy to attack you one at a time as you parried them and immediately killed them. They pretty much would line up and wait for their turn to die. Combat in the previous games was immensely easy.

The only thing I would prefer is that he looked more like Odin. The Odin I know is a brimmed hat wearing one eyed man, with rope burns around his neck, sorrounded by ravens and wolves. While he does look cool here, he kind of looks generic. In fact he reminds me of Thor at the end of God of War.
